- Meal Moms - teach residential participants how to make and serve a special dish.
- Girls Night Out - Plan and implement an activity for all participants to enjoy.
- Share a Hobby - Teach participants about a hobby, exposing them to new, creative opportunities.
- Career Workshops - Talk with the participants about career opportunities, share your experiences/career, family friendly work environments and balancing a career and motherhood.
- Walking Groups - Go for a walk and talk. These groups provide social and physical outlets for the participants.
- Yoga & other physical fitness activities - Lead participants in physical fitness activities, approved by their physicians, to aid in relaxation and keep them physically fit during their pregnancy and afterward.
- Tutoring - Work individually or in small groups with the participants on school work, tests, GED preparation, etc.
- Independent Living - Help teach to and work with the participants in areas including banking, money management, career planning, self care, relationships, etc.
For Promising Futures of Central Indiana Apartment Residents in addition to above opportunities
- Driving - Transport apartment participants when requested to school, appointments, etc
- Mentors - Each participant in the Pregnant and Parenting Teens services will have the opportunity to be matched with an adult mentor. Participants will meet at least two times per month with their mentor for a variety of activities on which they will decide. Mentors will also be available by phone for support and advice.
Teen Leaders in Action consists of 10 youth volunteers representing the school districts in Hamilton County. Their purpose is to keep the supervisor informed on current youth crises and how to better relate to kids. The board also plans awareness events, presentations, and a fundraiser for the program. These volunteers are learning positive youth development and leadership skills as well as giving back to the community.
Volunteers are needed to assist the Teen Leaders in Action Supervisor with the monthly meetings and supervise the board in their planned activities. The board meets on the second Tuesday evening of the month at the Family Access Center from 7:00 pm to 8:00pm.

This program provides an opportunity for caring families to offer temporary emergency shelter care for children between the ages of 7 to 17. A Host Home family voluntarily takes in a child in crisis when they cannot remain at home or be placed with other family or friends.
Volunteers are needed to be available for youth to stay in their homes for up to 21 days and provide a family atmosphere while the youth, the coordinator, and family work towards reunification. We are looking for homes in Hamilton, Madison and Tipton Counties.
Safe Place is designed to provide safe and immediate help for runaway, homeless and in-crisis youth. Safe Place provides the opportunity for teens to take the initiative in getting help.
Volunteers are needed to be available for transporting youth from Safe Place Sites to the 9th Street Facility in order to meet with the coordinator to resolve the issues. The volunteer would be called at anytime outside of the business day and any day of the week. We are seeking volunteers in Hamilton and Tipton Counties.
Volunteers are needed to assist at the administrative office in archiving/scrap booking the history of the agency, answering phones, filing, assisting in bulk mailings, data entry, and database systems development. The volunteers will be needed from 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday at the 9th Street office. The archiving/scrap booking activity could be done at own home on own time.
This position will support the Executive Director by assisting with project related administrative work.
The Development Committee is a sub-committee of the Board of Directors and it’s focus is to develop the annual resource development plan, create ideas for fundraising events, and cultivate donors.
Volunteers are needed to be community members on the committee assisting in the reaching of the committee’s goals, or serve on a special event committee.
This position will assist the Development Director with marketing, communications, event coordination, and/or data base maintenance.
Promising Futures of Central Indiana owns three properties in Noblesville. Volunteers are needed to assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the yards. Activities can include mowing, trimming bushes, planting flowers/plants, weeding, shoveling snow, etc. These activities can be done any day of the week and at any time of the day.
The Auxiliary was started in 1975 with the main purpose to provide support, public awareness and financial aid to Promising Futures of Central Indiana. Some of the activities include a Holiday Bazaar, Bake Sale, and Luncheon in November and Auction/Luncheon in April.
Volunteers are needed to participate in the monthly meetings which are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 11:00am. Other activities will be scheduled to accomplish the goals of the Auxiliary. For additional information, please contact Shirley Ward, (317) 773-0190.
Volunteers can assist the Family Access Center Coordinator with the supervision of visits between children and their non-custodial parents and the scheduling of these visits.
