The Pregnant & Parenting Teens Services provides comprehensive services designed to help pregnant and parenting teens:
- Graduate from high school or obtain a GED and continue their education
- Have a healthy baby
- Increase the knowledge and practice of positive, appropriate parenting skills
- Plan for their and their baby’s future
On a daily basis, there is a pregnant or parenting teen who feels alone and scared, often with nowhere to turn for support. A pregnant or parenting teen requires special understanding, education, comprehensive services, and positive adult role models to assist with the stress of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. The Pregnant & Parenting Teen Services- offered through Promising Futures- meets the needs for these teens.
Promising Futures comprehensive services are offered through case management-community-based, group home-residential or apartments to meet the needs of these teens.
All participants participate in the following activities:
- Support of education (school or GED program and continued education)
- Team meetings
- Healthcare management, including prenatal and well-baby care
- Prenatal and parenting classes
- Case management
- Clinical services
- Have a healthy baby program
- Relationship skills and human sexuality education
The following activities are also available to all participants through Promising Futures and its partner agencies. Participation is based on the recommendation of the family team.
